Edge of Light is photo of the Mt Soledad Veteran's Memorial in La Jolla by photographer Stephen Bay. The artwork shows the cross against a light blue sky just before sunset. The sun is about to disappear from the horizon and is just barely able to light up the edge of the clouds in the sky. The image represents how everything must come to an end.

Edge of Light | Mt Soledad National Veterans Memorial

I took this photo during the summer but it sat in my files for several months. I initially thought that perhaps I would reshoot this scene with a more dramatic sunset, but as I kept revisiting the photos from that day I realized that a more colorful sunset would detract from the image. To me, this image is all about the fading of the light at the end of the day.

Medium: Archival pigment print with acrylic facemount

This is a pigment print where the front has been directly mounted with an adhesive to a sheet of ultra clear, scratch resistant, and non-reflective acrylic glass. This process is known as face mounting. The acrylic captures light internally resulting in a display with incredible visual depth and vibrancy. With proper lighting, the acrylic print will appear to be back illuminated with the light emanating from the image itself. The print comes ready to hang with a hidden mount on the back that floats the print off the wall.

Please allow 4-5 weeks for production and delivery of your print. The prices include U.S. shipping, please contact me for international rates.
