During spring, the Immaculata Church can be seen through a field of vibrant yellow coreopsis flowers on Fiesta Island.
The Immaculata church is probably one of the most beautiful buildings in San Diego. It sits high on a hill top above Mission bay and can be seen from miles away. My favorite place to view it is from Fiesta Island during the springtime when I often go there for walks. During most years, assuming we get enough rain, the island is filled with yellow coreopsis flowers so thick that it is like a sea extending as far as you can see. I enjoy the contrast between a beautiful man-made work of architecture with a natural bloom of wildflowers.
