A ridgeline leads to Broken hill, part of the heavily eroded badlands in Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. The hill rises above the maritime chaparral and a few of the namesake Torrey Pine trees grow on top.
I was checking the weather apps and webcams this afternoon and I felt like the sunset would be pretty nice this evening. I've been going to the coast quite a bit so I decided to change things up and go to Broken Hill in Torrey Pines. I needed the extra hike anyways to stretch my legs.
I have a bit of a fear of heights, but I wanted to get the bottom of the ridge that leads into Broken Hill. So I leaned out a little bit over the edge. It actually wasn't too bad, but I didn't dilly dally here.
