Tonight I commited the cardinal sin for a landscape photographer... I packed up my stuff and left my spot before the sunset finished.
I had gone to the lighthouse at Point Loma to catch the sunset. I wasn't expecting much as it was very overcast and I was going more to get outside as opposed me thinking there was any real photo opportunity. I walked around a bunch and then I setup my camera. The skies weren't great, mostly blah with a tiny touch of color. As it started to get near 5pm (closing time), I thought the sky had already peaked so I packed up my stuff and walked back to the car. Big mistake.
Halfway back, I turned around and saw that the skies had lit up. So I ran back to my spot and rushed to recompose and refocus. Luckily for me, the rangers weren't kicking people out so I had about two minutes to shoot the sky.

Medium: Archival pigment print with acrylic facemount
This is a pigment print where the front has been directly mounted with an adhesive to a sheet of ultra clear, scratch resistant, and non-reflective acrylic glass. This process is known as face mounting. The acrylic captures light internally resulting in a display with incredible visual depth and vibrancy. With proper lighting, the acrylic print will appear to be back illuminated with the light emanating from the image itself. The print comes ready to hang with a hidden mount on the back that floats the print off the wall.
Please allow 4-5 weeks for production and delivery of your print. The prices include U.S. shipping, please contact me for international rates.
