The Story Behind the Photo
I photographed this scene during a night hike in Mt Laguna. I was able to capture the full arch of the Milky Way rising above this lone tree. What a beautiful sight that reminds me how lucky I am to live in San Diego. We have the coast, mountains, and desert all within a short drive.

This is a pigment print where the front has been directly adhered to a sheet of ultra clear, scratch resistant, and anti-reflective acrylic. This process is known as face mounting. The acrylic captures light internally and bounces it off the surface of the print resulting in a display with incredible visual depth and vibrancy. With proper lighting, the acrylic print will appear to have light emanating from the image itself. The back of the print is sealed with another layer of protective acrylic. The print comes ready to hang with hidden mounting hardware on the back that floats the print off the wall.
