Low tide reveals sandstone rocks that have been shaped by erosion into wonderful curved formations.
I woke up at 4am to give myself enough time to reach Hospitals Reef and catch the setting moon before the sunrise. Initially I was focused on photographing the moon and it's reflection in the tidepools, but as it got lighter I noticed this amazing rock revealed by the low (negative) tide. The sky also cooperated nicely and gave me a gorgeous puffy cloud centered above the rock. I absolutely love the La Jolla coast because every time you go, the tides reveal different parts of the landscape.
