The wet sand at low tide forms a glassy surface and reflects an incredible sky at Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach. It is just before sunset and the edge of the clouds pick up warm colors to contrast with the cool blue sky.
Every year in December I go to Pacific Beach to photograph the Christmas tree at the end of the pier. This year, I came well before sunset and the lights hadn't been turned on yet. But there was this wonderful glow in the sky as the setting sun lit up the clouds. There was also a low tide that left the sand covered in a thin layer of water that made the surface reflect the sky like a mirror.
