My Happy Place is a photo of a couple in a hammock at Scripps Pier in La Jolla. The artwork represents peace and relaxation, and has predominantly blue tones with an orange glow on the horizon as the sun sets. This photo is by Stephen Bay, a San Diego photographer.

My Happy Place | Couple at Scripps Pier

Scripps Pier is one of the most photographed landmarks in San Diego and it's always a struggle to come up with a unique image of this subject. I initially tried to exclude the couple in the hammock, but on a whim decided to place them in the center of the frame. Unexpected result, but I'm very happy how the image turned out.

30 x 45 inches, edition of 15

Medium: Archival pigment print with acrylic facemount

This is a pigment print where the front has been directly mounted with an adhesive to a sheet of ultra clear, scratch resistant, and non-reflective acrylic glass. This process is known as face mounting. The acrylic captures light internally resulting in a display with incredible visual depth and vibrancy. With proper lighting, the acrylic print will appear to be back illuminated with the light emanating from the image itself. The print comes ready to hang with a hidden mount on the back that floats the print off the wall.
