Twilight Irregularity is a panoramic photo by San Diego photographer Stephen Bay. The artwork depicts the badlands in Anza Borrego and shows the red-brown ridges, valleys, and washes created by erosion. The badlands are contrasted by a magenta sky.

Twilight Irregularity | Font's Point, Anza Borrego

Font's Point is located in Anza Borrego Desert State park, which is in the north east corner of San Diego County. The point is at the edge of a receding cliff and has a tremendous panoramic view of the badlands. To get to the point, my wife and I hiked 4 miles along a sandy wash (8 miles return). The hike isn't particularly strenuous but it can get hot so I would advise doing this only in the winter months and be sure to bring lots of water. I found out later that almost nobody does the hike and everyone simply drives the wash with a 4WD vehicle.

Medium: Archival pigment print with acrylic facemount

This is a pigment print where the front has been directly mounted with an adhesive to a sheet of ultra clear, scratch resistant, and non-reflective acrylic glass. This process is known as face mounting. The acrylic captures light internally resulting in a display with incredible visual depth and vibrancy. With proper lighting, the acrylic print will appear to be back illuminated with the light emanating from the image itself. The print comes ready to hang with a hidden mount on the back that floats the print off the wall.

Please allow 4-5 weeks for production and delivery of your print. The prices include U.S. shipping, please contact me for international rates.
