Black and White Photography

Between Dreams and Reality

Out of all my photographic work, I consider my black & white photos to be some of my most personal images. When I exclude color I do so because there's a disconnect between what I'm feeling at the time and what I see before me. Black and white helps me impose what I feel upon the scene. Sometimes this is an emotional low when i'm feeling down, but other times it's a high when I'm feeling exuberant. In my view, a B&W photo is perfectly positioned halfway between a dreamlike abstraction and reality.

Although I made these images purely for myself, I've decided to share them here with the thought that others may enjoy them as well. My black and white photos are all available as pigment prints made on a heavyweight fine art paper.
